Saltmarshe Hall welcomed nearly 500 visitors through its gates last week as it opened its gardens to the public as part of the National Garden Scheme’s open gardens event.
The event held on Wednesday, August 4, was organised by head gardener, Claire Connely along with the Helen Marsden, the county organiser for the National Garden Scheme. Claire said: “It was an outstanding success. We weren't expecting half as many people but it was a lovely day with nearly 500 people coming which has raised a lot of money for charity.” Visitors were able explore the 5 acres of gardens while browsing the various plant stalls and enjoying an afternoon tea.
